Huge Salaries-Little Results

I sadly watched the Atlanta Braves implode after a great season of baseball. Ever since I was a kid I was a fan of the New York Yankees. Twenty-seven World Series appearances. A truly dominating team “in the old days.” I also followed their implosion to the Huston Astros again in the playoffs.

Then to add insult to injury, I read an article in the wall Street Journal that was titled “Over a billion dollars in salaries” and no titles in ten years.

I could not help but to make the comparison between the big TV lawyer advertisers,, the huge amount of billboards around town toting their prowess in cases settled or the Google announcement, soliciting your viewing and checking on their websites. The million dollars they spend to bring a flow of clients into the front door is amazing.

Then I look at my tiny advertising budget. My dollars are spent on keeping up my website. There is little else. My funds go to tithing, to church work and worthy causes.

Yet, I have a full plate of wonderful clients who get my name from other satisfied clients (and a few from the free Google). Unlike the Yankees and the million-dollar advertising budget of the mega PI lawyers, I can do better than all of them…because they can only put up one lawyer at a time on a case. Effort and grit is what I use to combat their huge budgets. And I love it that way.
